The answer is simple: Naogaon earned this title with its large volume of mango production throughout Bangladesh.
Rajshahi and Chapainawabganj were once the top mango-producing districts in Bangladesh. However, from the 2021-2022 fiscal year,1 Naogaon became the leader in mango production. That year, Naogaon produced 42.03% of the mangoes in the Rajshahi Division, while Rajshahi produced 28.67% and Chapainawabganj 14.24%. As a result, Naogaon is now proudly called the “Mango Capital of Bangladesh.

Naogaon shows extraordinary growth with a 1417.54% increase. Its production skyrocketed from 22,818 metric tons in 2017-18 to 346,539.31 metric tons in 2022-23.
Joypurhat improved by 33.58%, is a moderate growth in mango production.
Pabna grew slightly by 7.40% between FY 2017-18 to 2022-23.
Rajshahi decreased slightly by 2.48%. Once a dominant name in mango production.

Natore experienced a sharp decline of 44.56%.
Sirajganj district's mango production fell by 22.04%, indicating a concerning downward trend.
