Niamatpur Upazila, Naogaon

Niamatpur Upazila (Bangla: নিয়ামতপুর উপজেলা) is a sub‑district of Naogaon District in Rajshahi Division, Bangladesh. The upazila headquarters lies roughly 38 km southwest of Naogaon town and about 64 km northwest of Rajshahi city. The area extends over approximately 449.09 km² and includes 35,299 households.

Geographically, Niamatpur is positioned at around 24°51′30″ N latitude and 88°34′00″ E longitude. It is bordered by Porsha Upazila to the north, Tanore and Nachole Upazilas to the south, Manda and Mohadevpur Upazila to the east, and Gomastapur plus Nachole Upazila to the west.

The upazila is governed by one upazila parishad and 8 union councils (also known as parishad). It has 321 mouzas and 341 villages. The area falls within the electoral constituency of 46, Naogaon-01 (Mohadevpur–Badalgachhi).

Heritage of Niamatpur Upazila

The upazila hosts a historical Premgosai Mela (BN: প্রেমগোসাই মেলা) of Gujishahar. The vibrant village fair is held annually during Paush Sankranti. This age-old event draws large crowds from across the country. It creates a festive atmosphere that lasts for an entire week.
